I feel like the QR code is the litmus test for whether your ‘digital experts’ are actually digital experts.

(Although, I have seen some data that suggests that they work in a few specific situations.)

Fucking banks.
Our current Contents only insurance is through Lloyds Bank. The past 12 months cost us £28 per month for pretty standard cover in our 2-bed terrace house. Before that, it was £23 a month.
In our new place, it’s going to cost £29 for Contents AND Buildings. £1 more for a 3 bed semi.
And today Lloyds sent their renewal. Same terrace house. 6 years no claims and 5% “loyalty” reward. £35 a month.

Fuck them.
With any luck, we’ll only need to pay them for about 3 weeks of cover.

The Dagger Beach vinyl issue is a 200g pressing from QRP, the best vinyl plant in the country. It sounds HELLA GOOD. I’m really proud of this record, it’s dirtier and weirder than anything I’ve done since Cellar Door.

I’ve also made a full-length cover of Bowie’s amazing Diamond Dogs. A *very* limited run of 200g vinyl records will be available through Kickstarter as well. We’ve got two new t-shirts (including an updated version of the Library Card), digital downloads, and tons more stuff.

Updating Windows XP

I had the unfortunate task of updating my XP virtual machine to XPSP3 today. Here is what I had to do:

1. Download Network Install of SP3 - 316MB
2. Restart
3. Update WGA Tool and something else.
4. Install 120 more updates (126MB)
5. Restart
6. Install 5 more updates (9MB)
7. Restart
8. Done

When a major selling point of Windows 8 tablets is that they can run all the software your laptop...
